Zeus Carver is the deuteragonist in Die Hard with a Vengeance. He is an impetuous African-American shopkeeper and activist who accompanies John McClane on his mission, proving to be resourceful and streetwise.
He was portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson, who also played Carl Lee Hailey in A Time to Kill, Danny Roman in The Negotiator, Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mace Windu in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, Ray Arnold in Jurassic Park, Marcus Banks in Spiral, Darius Kincaid in The Hitman’s Bodyguard films, Whiplash in Turbo, Jimbo in Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, Afro Samurai and Ninja Ninja from the anime series of the same name, Vic in The Garfield Movie, and Frozone in The Incredibles.
Biography[]
He is first seen attacking John McClane because he wears racist letters. However he didn't know that Simon Gruber forced John to do it. After learning the truth, he is forced to help McClane to defeat Gruber. After they managed to defeat him, Zeus and John depart as friends.
Personality[]
Though he comes across as quick-tempered, stubborn, (and a little racist, as stated by John), Zeus is a good-hearted, hard working everyman who proves to be resourceful and street smart.
In the end, it is implied that Zeus and John remain allies.
