Zhou Cang (Chinese: 周倉) is a supporting character in the 14th-century Chinese classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by the late Luo Guanzhong, and its multiple adaptations. He is a fictional general of the Yellow Turbans who pledged his loyalty to Guan Yu after hearing his exploits.

He was voiced by Chiharu Sawashiro, who also voiced Joe Higashi in the SNK Universe.

History[]

Meeting Guan Yu[]

He originally participated in the Yellow Turban Rebellion, during which Zhou Cang met Guan Yu, who impressed him with his courage and honor. Although he wants to followed Guan Yu, Guan Yu wanted a weak escort while he was carrying Liu Bei's family. Zhou Cang became an independent renegade, and moved to Mount Woniu (along with another former Yellow Turban rebel, Pei Yuanshao), where he gained a good reputation for his strength and skills. Since his pressure is not very bad, Zhou Cang should be makes his enemies feeling shamed for well. When he meet Guan Yu again, this time on a mountain road, he abandoned his past and swore allegiance to him.

Service under Shu[]

During the siege of Changban, Cao Cao and Wei forces are prepared to attacked Shu. Zhou Cang puts his long sword to fights with Cao Cao and his two minions, Li Dian and Yue Jin, as Zhao Yun, who riding his horse to crossing bridge and later arrives in the village, so which have time to saved Liu Bei and Lady Gan's son, Liu Shan, with by aiding for it. Returns to battle against Wei, Zhao Yun would takes Liu Shan back to his lord with apart by not despair.

Joins the battle of Chibi, Zhou Cang later helps Guan Yu and Liu Bei to escorting Pang Tong to several locations, where was truly attacked Cao Cao's forces for Wu. As marines then fall out by fire attacked being caused by Sun Quan, Cao Cao and his forces retreated from Jiangling, which repeating attacks Shu.

Breakthrough at Fan Castle[]

Zhou Cang worked with Guan Yu into prevents Cao Cao from calling reinforcements. However, Zhou Cang agreed to cooperate with Guan Yu together and against Wei armies, even named responsible for wearing his Green Saber. But his skill as a boatman will later be essential to Guan Yu in the flood of Fan Castle, he also managed to captured the fierce warrior Pang De during the attacked. After Guan Yu was executed by the Wu forces, Wang Fu walled the castle and Zhou Cang then committed suicide.

  • Zhou Cang is one of the supporting characters in the 2010 TV adaptations of Three Kingdoms. He was portrayed by Zhang Jiaoyang.
