Zoey is one of the four playable characters of the 2008 valve video game Left 4 Dead. Her original design was based on Alesia Glidewell, who also worked with Valve on Portal as a model for the character Chell. However, when the character designs were updated later in development, Zoey was made to resemble actress/model Sonja Kinski instead. In official media, she is usually seen dual-wielding pistols.
Zoey, along with Louis and Francis, appears in Left 4 Dead 2 in the campaign The Passing when they meet with the Left 4 Dead 2 Survivors. Unlike her attitude in Left 4 Dead, she comes off as somewhat more serious and, at times, angry. This is probably due to the fact that she is hit very hard by Bill's recent death.
Zoey's facial features are portrayed by Sonja Kinski, and she is voiced by Jen Taylor, who also voices Cortana and Princess Peach.
Biography[]
Zoey was once a student at Aldrich at Philadelphia under a scholarship to become a film-maker however, she spent her time watching horror films instead of attending classes and even tried justifying to her mother that this is part of a "research". Her love for horror films was introduced to her by her own father, Wade. One night, her father wanted her to become a police officer like him and caused a heated argument with her mother, Carolyn who was greatly concerned about their daughter's future.
However, the argument didn't last long as an Infected man stumbled across their home and bit Carolyn to death. Wade managed to kill the Infected, but not long after Carolyn turned as well and fatally mauled her husband. Before she could get the chance to attack Zoey, Wade shot her dead. Bleeding to death, Wade pleads his own daughter to euthanize him in order to avoid turning into the Infected. An emotionally hurt Zoey then proceeds to shoot him dead to end his suffering.
It was later revealed that the euthanasia was in vain, due to the fact that her father might possibly be a carrier.

Trivia[]
- Zoey is referred to as 'teenangst' in textures and 'teengirl' in sound resources, confirming that she is still a teenager.
- There is also an unused model for Zoey, where she wears her hair down.
