Plants are the titular deuteragonists of the Plants vs. Zombies indie game franchise.
The purpose of the plants is when collected enough sun, they can be planted to support the players to defend their homes from the brain-eating zombies. They are mutants monstrous that can damage them, simply sit back and act as a support, or can only used once. Players must strategize with them to build a perfect defense to protect themselves from the zombie horde.
Peashooter - He is your first line of defense and primary attacker. Shoots peas at the enemy.
Sunflower - She is your primary source for sun. She gives you additional sun for planting more plants.
Cherry Bomb - Two cherries that explode taking out zombies within range.
Wall-Nut - He blocks off zombies with his hard shell and protects your other plants.
Potato Mine - A mine that explodes when a zombie comes into contact with him, but is delayed arming himself.
Snow Pea - Similar to peashooter, but he shoots frozen peas that damage and slow the enemy.
Chomper - Eats the first zombie that comes into contact with him, but vulnerable while chewing.
Repeater - Basically peashooter, but shoots two peas at the enemy instead of one.
Puff-Shroom - A mushroom that fires spores at zombies from a short distance. Sleeps during the day.
Sun-Shroom - He gives small sun at first and later normal sun. Sleeps during the day.
Fume-Shroom - Fires fumes at zombies that can shoot through screen doors. Sleeps during the day.
Grave Buster - He is planted to remove graves. Sleeps during the day.
Hypno-Shroom - A mushroom that hypnotizes a zombie when attacked. The hypnotized zombie will fight for you, not against you. Sleeps during the day.
Scaredy-Shroom - Basically the Puff-Shroom but fires spores from longer distance. He hides when the enemy nears him. Sleeps during the day.
Ice-Shroom - He is used to freeze all zombies by immobilizing them temporarily. Sleeps during the day.
Doom-Shroom - An explosive mushroom that deals massive damage to nearby zombies.
Lily Pad - Used to add a non-aquatic plant in the pool.
Squash - He is used to squash the first zombie that comes near him.
Threepeater - Shoots three peas at the enemy.
Tangle Kelp - An aquatic plant that can pull zombies underwater.
Jalapeno - Burns all zombies in the lane that he is used on.
Spikeweed - Used to damage zombies that step on it and pop zombie vehicle wheels.
Torchwood - Use him and any pea that passes his fire will turn into fire peas.
Tall-Nut - Basically Wall-Nut but with better toughness and can take more damage.
Sea-Shroom - Basically the Puff Shroom but can be in the water without a lilypad. Sleeps during the day.
Plantern - Used to help you see through fog in fog levels. Sleeps during the day.
Cactus - She can fire spikes that pop balloons off balloon zombies and zombie vehicle tires.
Blover - A flower plant used to blow away all fog and balloon zombies in its path.
Split Pea - A pea that shoots one pea forward and two peas backwards.
Starfruit - Fires five stars at five directions.
Pumpkin - Can be planted on another plant and it will act like a shield.
Magnet-Shroom - A magnet used to remove metal objects off zombies. Sleeps during the day.
Cabbage-Pult - He is a cabbage plant that fires cabbages at the enemy.
Flower Pot - Used to have plants be planted on roof levels.
Kernel-Pult - He is a corn plant that fires kernels at the enemy. When he fires butter, the butter temporarily immobilizes the enemy hit.
Coffee Bean - A bean that is used to wake up sleeping shrooms.
Garlic - It diverses most of the zombies to other two lanes.
Umbrella Leaf - Protects the plant from Bungees and Catapults.
Marigold - It drops coins overtime.
Melon-Pult - Basically cabbage pult, but fires melons that deal damage to groups of zombies within reach.
Gatling Pea - It must be placed on Repeater, and it fires 4 peas at once.
Twin Sunflower - It must be placed on Sunflower, and it drops two suns overtime.
Gloom-Shroom - It must be placed on Fume-Shroom, and it will burst out bubbles in 3x3 area. Sleeps during the day.
Cattail - It must be placed on Lily Pad, and it will fire two homing spikes at the nearest zombie of the house.
Winter Melon - It must be placed on Melon-Pult, and it will fire an ice melon that will deal heavy damage to groups of zombies and slow them down.
Gold Magnet - It must be placed on Magnet-Shroom, and it will automatically collect coins and diamonds.
Spikerock - It must be placed on Spikeweed, and it does twice as damage as regular Spikeweed and takes multiple hits.
Cob Cannon - It must be placed on two horizontal Kernel-Pults, and it will launch a corn cob and it'll explode when clicked on the spot it was selected to, but it must be recharged overtime when used.
Imitater - Imitates a plant.
Explode-o-nut - It explodes when on contact of the zombie.
Giant Wall-nut - Crushes over any zombie in its path.
